I tried reproducing the error, but I can’t. It works fie for me. Maybe you could contact us over email and we can investigate it. email@example.com
F-Stop has always written tags into files only for JPG files. For all others F-Stop writes it into sidecar files. However we plan to add more files to the list of formats for which we will embed tags. However, videos are not planned, since sometimes you can not just change couple of bytes of video, but need to rewrite whole video (which can be several GB in size). Also, due to how Android works with SD cards, sometimes we would need to even copy it twice.
No, currently there is no way to do this.
If Main folder have images, then it can be set. Generally, you select image in the folder and then select “Set as folder thumbnail” from the menu.
Actually we are working on exiv2, but the process of implementing it into F-Stop will most likely be in steps. Step one will probably be just replacing current library for writing JPGs. Next we will extend it to more formats, etc.
This is on our todo list.
We also do cache left and right images, however in lower resolution. That’s because of memory constraints. Not all devices have a lot of memory. However, since this was implemented, devices have become more powerful, and we do plan to improve this.
Yes, this is planned. But our todo list is huge, so can’t make any promises on when it will be implemented.
What exactly do you want to achieve?
If you open navigation drawer on the left side, there is “Ratings” entry. If you click that you can open images rated with 1 star, 2 stars ,etc.
Also, you can use ratings in Smart albums combined with other conditions.
Is there anything else you want to achieve?
Currently there isn’t a way to do this. But we are working on it and most likely we will add this in the next major release.August 11, 2016 at 8:18 am in reply to: After choosing 'enhanced list' view, can't get back to non-enhncd grid view. #6851
Could you please send us (by email) a short video of the issue. I know, what you wrote, sound like it doesn’t need more explanation, but sometimes, we see things that can help us in video.
F-Stop does notify media scanner to rescan file. I will double check if I find an error. Also, can you please tell us what device are you using.
I have just tested this scenario and it works for me. Couple of notes:
* you need to copy files using F-Stop (which has access to that folder) or built in file manager which can save files anywhere
* since folder “<SDCard_path>/Android/data” usually has “.nomedia” in it, you’ll need to add folder “<SDCard_path>/Android/data/com.fstop.photo” to “Included folders”. Also, when you do that, you’ll need to add your main storage and root of sdcard to “Included folders” too.
I don’t see why that wouldn’t work. We can go step by step and try to find where the problem is.
1) What device do you use?
2) What is your sdcard path?
3) Try using F-Stop to copy just one file into “<SDCard_path>/Android/data/com.fstop.photo”
4) If it fails, what is exact path you are copying to?
BTW, I use Xperia Z3 also, so this should for you too.
