Saving metadata for SMB pictures fails

Hi,
I have all my pictures on a SMB fileserver.
I can delete pictures from the F-Stop App on the fileserver.
When I add Labels or add stars to a jpg picture, I want to save the metadata tot the picture.
When I select the picture and press Save metadata I get the message:
STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED (0xc0000022): Create failed for \IP-address\folder\picture.jpg
The connection is SMB2_10 from Android 13 (TAB S7Plus) to Debian 11 (Samba 4.13.13).

Added
The menu Update Metadata is followed by the number of changed SMB pictures, though selecting the Update Metadata gives an empty screen with “No media found”

When I change the settings to XMP sidecard, it will save the sidecard.
