New Tagging Feature

I really like the new Tagging feature. It is much faster for me to tag a file with multiple tags from the list. The only problem is that I cannot find any way to create NEW tags. I have gone through every menu, long pressed on everything, everywhere. Selecting the tag icon only takes me to the list of existing tags. There I find a “…” menu where I can create or delete new group tags but no option to create a regular tag. Am I missing something obvious? I’m using a Nexus 6 under Android 6.0.1.

Hello,

Sorry, we plan to make it more obvious in the next update. You add tags by using the search at the top of the new tagging view. As you start typing, the first option is to add the tag.

Hey there guys. I am having the exact same problem.
Is there a way to create a new tag that the app does not already have?
Ive tried to just type a new tag and click ok, but nothing happens and when I go back to the picture, it does not have any tag associated with it.

In the tagging interface, tap at the top where it says “Search or add tag”. Start typing and tap the “+” icon (actually that whole line will work too) to add the tag.
