How to Make New Custom Tags

I am trying to make new tags. I seem to be unable to save the ones I make. I can get to the place where I type in the new tag name, and see it with dotted lines around it. Somehow I am not saving the new tag.

Can anyone give me the specific order in which I need to do this?

Is it possible to make custom tags?
Right now, I make my own with a workaround. I’ll tag a photo with something like “Animals” (in the “Tag groups” – General). Then, go back and rename it. It works fine, but it would be nice to have a button that says “make custom tag”.

How do you rename it?
Open the navigation drawer. That’s the “hamburger” (three horizontal bars) at the upper left hand corner of any screen. Select tags. In the upper right corner you’ll see three dots. Select that and choose “Edit tags”. Now you can change the name of any of the tags that you have been using. Select the pencil and change the name. Your newly renamed tag will show up in the “All tags” group.

Caution: Make sure your “dummy tag” is not something that you’re already using. You might choose one from the other categories like “Wedding Photography” to ensure you’re choosing a unique tag.
