      Hello,

I can’t see anymore the new jpeg files and folders that I add in the F-stop media gallery app,
      – neither in the android Photos application
      – nor in the android file manager
      – nor through usb connection with my laptop Win7
It is probably since the latest version V4.5.0.
I can still see all the previous files.

      Didier

Still working fine for me, is it that you have the sort upside down – latest at the bottom.

      Hello Seadart,

I can see all my files but only in the F-stop media gallery.
New files recently added in F-stop can only be seen in F-stop but not in the photo app and not via my laptop through usb connection.

That is quite a mystery to me, didierchretien. F-Stop just looks at your storage devices like all other apps if you were thinking that the images were stored in F-Stop somehow. One thing different is that we use our own media scanner vs using the built-in Android scanner that most apps use. Perhaps the issue is related to the built-in scanner not updating its database; however, I still think you should be able to see the files via USB. Maybe you could try rebooting your device?

You could also try using this app to see if it can refresh the media scanner:

I also found this info on media scanner issues related to a corrupt image file:

        Hello Jason,

        The reboot solves the problem!
I did not even think about this simple manipulation, sorry about that!
        Many thanks for your help!

      Hello again,

The problem is still there, if I save a picture from facebook, the file is stored on my internal memory.
It is visible by every application and through usb connection but as soon as I move it with F-stop to a folder on my Sd card the file becomes only visible by the F-stop app and not by other apps nor usb connection.
The problem is solved by :
      – a reboot
      – running the media scanner app (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=info.superkiki.mediascanner)
Should F-stop not force a media scan after it moves a file???

      Hi Didier,

F-Stop does notify media scanner to rescan file. I will double check if I find an error. Also, can you please tell us what device are you using.

Could it be related to the fact that I move the file on my sd card, in my case:
      /storage/5C93-160D/
By default the media scanner does a scan of:
      /storage/emulated/0
In order to see the files in other applications I have to change it to:
      /storage/

Yes, you just need to unprotect your protected files first. See this for protected file recovery if you ever have issues: http://www.fstopapp.com/faq/#toggle-id-1

      Hello,
      I repeat my question 🙂

      Have you check???

      Hello,
I have installed fstop in my internal memory, cause it was my phone default store location.
Then i change the path of the protected folder to my external sdcard.
      Al works great.

But now i´m beginig to have space problems in my internal memory.
So i’ve decided changing the fstop installation to my sdcard, changing the default installation path of my phone to the externa card, in the process.
Now, Fsotp lets my see the protected albums and detail of each albun, the thumbs of the album, but when i wanto to use the fstop media player i cant see the pictures.

So they thumbs of the album and the thumbs of the pics in the album detail are ok but i can not see the pics itselves.
Is there a way to do this?
My cel is a ALCATEL Pop 2 4.5.

      Thanks.

      José.

As you have said, you haven’t found your JPEG images in the Android’s file manager or even in any photos application. Right? But I would like to say there is still a possibility to recover hidden files in Android mobile by using the ES File Explorer app. Yes, is an app which is available on the Google Play store and used to unhide the hidden files on different Android device. To do so, follow these steps:
      • Just open the Play store app on your phone and install the ES File Explorer app.
      • Then, slide the right menu & choose the Tools.
      • Next, go down and choose the “Show hidden files” option.
      • Now, enable it, and then you can see all your hidden files on your Android phone.
