Clarification about tags & metadata

Hello,

I think I know the answer for this but would appreciate a confirmation. Metadata for
– Folders
– Albums
– Tags
Is stored on the files themselves (both image and video). Is that correct? Meaning if I have the Pro version and I reinstall my phone and start f-stop again it will read all the information again?

To answer your question, the PRO version allows you to save tags and ratings into jpg files only. Other file types will use a sidecar file. In both cases, F-Stop will see this information after a reinstall.

Where is the sidecar located?
Is there an option to specify sidecar location? (external SD card for example)

The sidecar is always located in the same folder as the media file and cannot be changed.
