I finally was able to reset the default editor in my Android phone. I mistakenly set the “Markup” app as my default editor and I could not figure out how to reset it.

Here is my solution:
First, the “Markup” app does not show in the Apps section in settings. So what I had to do is run it and then on the task manager hold click on the app icon on top and select App Info

In the App Info UI there is a section called “Open by default” and I removed any links created there.

Then I went back to f-stop and voila! I had my choice of “apps for edit” back.

This only took a few years and a few phones to figure out.
