Tapping on screen should not hide info panel. It should only hide bottom and top toolbars. But info panel should remain on the screen. Only long pressing on the image should switch to full screen and hide info panel. Are you sure that single tapping on the image hides info panel? Can you send us a short video of the issue by email.
